Getting ready for Fall Fashion

Fall fashion is upon us and we're getting ready, right? Though we're still wearing our bathing suits and still working on our tans, remember;  fall is right around the corner.  Living in LA, I have limited closet space, not the tiny winy space I had in NYC, but my building was built in 1920’s (deco era love).  I usually have to switch my spring/summer wardrobe with my fall/winter wardrobe, time to get to work. My favorite thing about fall is you can still rock some of your favorite summer pieces and adding some new fall garments just by layering them all together. Its never too early to start looking for your staple pieces for fall, so let's get started. Let's start looking for basics like boots & scarfs now!

Shopping Tip: Okay ladies, the best time to purchase your fall/winter boots is late August and early September. These dates are the best to get wonderful first picks and stores price them to go! This is because not everyone is thinking fall fashion yet (now you will be after you read this) take my advice, pick up some fall fashion finds around this time of year and get them at a steal!  Keep your eyes open for these deals, early buying guarantees that you won't regret it when you're wearing your finds for 3 weeks straight in November.

Dressing practical for fall is your key incentives this season. You never want to forget to carry a scarf with you, they fold up really small and fit in any bag, you can also tie them to your bag too! When the sun sets, especially in Southern California where you get that beautiful cool breeze at dusk, but when you're wearing that awesome sundress just throw on your fun, comfortable and stylish scarf.

Style Tip: You may have heard me before say it, but just add a pop of color in your outfit, well here you go, you got in with your fun scarf! Scarves are very affordable for everyone’s budget. You can buy any type of scarf and from anywhere to airports at the "Everything $10" kiosks to Louis Vuitton Stores, from pricing $5 all the way up to $1500 plus.

Fashion Tip: Splurging on a quality scarf is so worth the splurge, especially when you find fabrics like Alpaca, Cashmere, Cotton, Jersey, Pashmina & Silk. (Blends of any of these are fantastic too)  Remember the scarf will be rubbing on your face and you'll be thankful you picked out a quality material in the long run. My favorite thing about scarves is they could be bought at any price level (shopaholic here) but remember when shopping, you always go for quality over quantity because a scarf is going to be a staple of your outfit so have fun with it. I like the designer Desigual, they have a very vibrant and fun collection using wonderful fabrics and fun designs.

Fashion Travel Tip: This is for everyone who travels a lot, planning a weekend getaway, or when we are traveling home for Thanksgiving. A great travel idea is get a very large scarf and take it with you in your carry on. I do a lot of traveling and I've always have a super soft large scarf that I could double as a blanket. I also wrap my electronics (iPad, tablet, or laptop) in my scarf and place it in my carry-on. It’s really is an amazing idea because usually when you're on an airplanes it gets freezing. That cold draft blowing from up above, no matter if I turn the fan off I’m still cold. Is it just me lol?

So now that I discussed a few shopping and fashion tips for fall, it’s definitely time to get your fall wardrobe underway. Boots for deals and a scarf that are comfortable along with being versatile, yet playful to wear! Remember; the best thing you can wear is self-confidence.
